Recovery software piracy presents unique challenges to law enforcement because of the wide variety of ways that the crime can be committed, the ease and low cost of reproduction, and the fact that there is little degradation in the quality of recovery software from copy to copy. Network protection deleted data files are not the only sensitive information often found on laptops.
